A lot a of people don’t realize that there are a lot of things that go into getting the perfect measurements for plantation shutters. Measurements are the reason why you can’t buy quality shutters online like you would buy a book. The major factor that needs to be considered if you are planning to buy shutters is that even though they may look perfect, your window sizes are not.

Height and width vary from the bottom of your windows to the top. Even if they look like they are equal, there is usually a slight variation that can mean the difference between plantation shutters that have almost seemless looking joints and shutters that look like they are falling apart.

How do you avoid this? Well, there are some simple steps that you can take.

First, measure the window yourself with a tape measure. Measure horizontally at the top of the portal, then the bottom. Next measure vertically at the left side of the window to the right.
